The final four contestants in Season Five of the hit Australian reality show Biggest Loser celebrate a 'life-changing' experience in March, watched by prime-time audiences of one million in Australia.

Herman den Blijker

Dutch celebrity chef Herman den Blijker, the "Gordon Ramsey of Holland" visited New Zealand in February and March, filming an eight-part reality television show that will air in September. Five couples competed in a series of challenges around the country with the inevitable eliminations along the way. The winning couple will win two roles to work as head chef and maitre d' at an Accor hotel.

The entire series of eight one-hour episodes will air prime-time on RTL4, one of the biggest television channels in the Netherlands. It is expected to attract estimated audiences of one million for eight weeks from August 2010. The episodes will be repeated twice and the series will also be promoted by RTL4 online and with trailers and publicity.

Challenges for the final four contestants in Season Five of the hit Australian reality show Biggest Loser took part in the Auckland and Northland regions in February. Five New Zealand episodes screened to prime-time audiences of one million in Australia across a week in March. Contestants said New Zealand was "life changing" and "beautiful" - with one even planning to come back for his wedding!

Tania Zamparo

Former Miss Italy and Sky Italia's new rugby presenter, Tania Zamparo, visited New Zealand in early April to film a short documentary previewing New Zealand as the host country for Rugby World Cup 2011. The piece will be broadcast to Sky Sport audiences during the Italian rugby team's tour of South Africa in June and during coverage of the Tri-Nations Tournament. The crew filmed Tania Zamparo swimming with dolphins off Akaroa and enjoying activities in Kaikoura and Marlborough.
Island Magazine cover Glossy US travel magazine Islands (circulation 213,241) featured New Zealand in its April edition as well as online at www.islands.com. Journalist Jo Yogerst took readers on an adrenalin-packed sky-diving, bungee-jumping, tubing, Shweebing adventure around the country. The 12-page spread featured Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua, West Coast and Queenstown.
Virtuoso Magazine Cover Virtuoso Life featured New Zealand as the cover story in its March edition with a 10-page feature entitled 'North Island Epic'.  The article highlighted luxury experiences in Taupo, Hawkes Bay and the Bay of Islands of the type that inspire the magazine's 250,000-strong readership of discerning travellers. Virtuoso Life is published exclusively for top clients of Virtuoso travel in the US and for World Elite MasterCard cardholders.

Australian television and radio personality Jules Lund, presenter of Channel Nine's Getaway travel show, visited New Zealand in April to film a series of 'webisodes' promoting Dunedin, Southland and Fiordland. Jules Lund was accompanied by two photography enthusiasts, one who won a Canon photography competition and the other the influential Australian blogger Neerav Bhatt. With a focus on landscapes and wildlife, coverage will appear across a variety of platforms including social media, print and online, including Nine MSN's website, Canon's website, Facebook, and on Neerav Bhatt's blogs and social media pages.
