Trade Marketing
The travel trade - from retail agents and online travel sellers,
to wholesalers and inbound tour operators - plays a vital role in
'selling' a destination. They provide on-the-ground expertise and
advice, helping consumers in our offshore markets plan and book
their New Zealand holidays. As experts, they are very influential
in helping consumers decide whether to come to New Zealand - or to
choose another destination.
Tourism New Zealand works with regional tourism organisations
and the New Zealand tourism industry to educate offshore travel
sellers on what New Zealand has `to offer. We do this by running
workshops in our key markets, by taking New Zealand operators to
offshore events like Tourism New Zealand 'Kiwi Links' or by hosting
travel sellers in New Zealand for familiarisation visits.
We also work closely with the travel trade to help them support
our marketing activity offshore, so that they boost their New
Zealand sales and so that New Zealand benefits more from visitors
who stay longer and do more while they are here.
