Developing NZ Tourism
Tourism is one of New Zealand's largest export industries,
second only to the dairy industry in terms of foreign exchange
earnings. It employs one in 10 New Zealanders and has the potential
to improve the economies of communities around the country.
Section Highlights
New Zealand's reputation as a visitor destination relies on our
ability to consistently provide world-class visitor experiences
with a distinctly New Zealand flavour. Making sure our visitors get
what they are looking for when they come here on holiday is
important: quality products and services, a warm welcome, authentic
experiences, useful travel information and a relatively pristine
natural environment.
Developing the tourism industry requires regional tourism
organisations, operators, Government and other industry groups to
work together.
