The Australian Holiday and Travel Shows, held throughout
Australia earlier this year, have received great feedback and
exposure with potential travellers for attendees.
Tourism New Zealand partnered with Regional Tourism Operators
and suppliers to ensure a strong New Zealand presence at the
consumer travel shows.
A dedicated area alongside operators and travel sellers was
coordinated by Tourism New Zealand to really maximize New Zealand's
presence to potential Australian holiday visitors.
This year was the first time in a number of years that Tourism
New Zealand had a presence at the consumer shows and attended this
year to help the industry test the value of the shows.
The shows provided the opportunity for travellers to engage with
New Zealand operators and for the industry to obtain first-hand
insights to what Australian's are looking for from their holiday
destination.
Commenting on his involvement, Ryan Ingram, International Sales
Manager, Real Journeys said he found the event to be a great forum
to get first hand feedback on the types of holidays that Australian
consumers are considering.
"I think the consumers were impressed by the scale of the New
Zealand presence and the depth of knowledge available to them and
this paid off in terms of the level of interest we all received,"
he said.
Held throughout Australia during February, March and April, the
shows saw destination New Zealand promoted in Perth, Melbourne,
Sydney and Brisbane.
In Sydney, Tourism New Zealand's stand received positive
feedback from operators and RTO's who applauded ingenuity, style,
interaction and the overall professionalism of the stand. The event
organiser Expertise Events also recognized the stand with it
awarded the best large exhibit at the Sydney show.
