Renewing an application

Approved ADS inbound tour operators must renew their ADS approval each year.

Approved Tour Guides do not need to renew their applications.

The documentation and application fee must be received by Tourism New Zealand's China Market Development Unit at least 20 working days before the end of the inbound tour operator's current ADS approval.

To renew ADS approval, an inbound tour operator will need to provide the following:

  • A completed Application Form for ADS Renewal: Schedule 2 (see document downloads below)
  • A completed deed of undertaking form: Schedule 3 (see document download below)
  • An application fee of $2,875.00 (GST inclusive, non-Qualmrk endorsed ITOs only) or $2,070.00 (GST inclusive, TEC members or ITOs registered as a Qualmark Endorsed Visitor Service only)
  • Financial statements or letter from a Chartered Accountant (see section 10 of Schedule 2 for details):
    1. Any financial statements provided need to include a breakdown of non-commission and commission-based sales amounts and must be accompanied by a letter issued and signed by the company accountant, or
    2. A letter from a Chartered Account must confirm that the business is a going concern and satisfies the solvency test as that test is defined in the Companies Act 1993.
  • GST Statement of Account certificates issued by the Inland Revenue Department for the previous six months
  • If there have been any changes to staff engaged in ADS-related work, the following will need to be supplied:
    1. For all New Zealand-based staff and/or representatives, certified documentation confirming their New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand residence or work permit status
    2. A Ministry of Justice 3rd Party Criminal Convictions form. Sections 1 and 3 of this form need to be completed by the staff member(s) concerned
