International Media Programme highlights
Tourism New Zealand's international media programme (IMP) hosts
around 400 journalists in New Zealand each year from print, online
and broadcast organisations. The main aim of the programme is to
gain compelling, high-profile media coverage to motivate our target
market to travel to New Zealand.

- Chef and top selling author Anthony Ma visited to experience
Balloons over Waikato, youth, food and wine products throughout the
country. Anthony's trip has been covered through daily Weibo posts
to his 1.3 million followers, NZ travel stories in Zui Novel and
douban.com, and NZ travel highlights in his new book which is set
to be published in 2013.
- Taiwanese entertainment boss Wei Chung Wang travelled through
NZ on a luxury, golf and romance themed trip. He was followed by
top lifestyle media outlets GQ, Gootrip and Sina, who will report
on his experiences. Mr Wang also posted about his trip on Weibo to
his 179,593 followers.
- 3G.cn boss Zhang Xiangdong visited to ride part of the South
Island leg of the Tour of New Zealand along with senior editors of
top lifestyle publications including ELLE Men, New Weekly and
Hangzhou. Coverage included multiple magazine articles and a diary
feature on 3G.cn which boasts 30million daily users. Mr Zhang also
posted throughout the trip on his Weibo
which has 298,872 followers.
- Taiwanese movie star Ivy Chen visited the country producing a
celebrity travel guidebook. The book will include activity and
accommodation recommendations as well as Ivy's personal thoughts
about her experiences in New Zealand.
