Air New Zealand has joined forces with Tourism New Zealand and
ten Chinese travel trade partners to undertake a major advertising
campaign in China.
Air New Zealand and Tourism New Zealand are jointly investing
over NZD$1.5 million in the campaign, designed to encourage Chinese
visitors to step outside the fixed group itineraries traditionally
popular with this market and sample more independent travel in New
Zealand.
It uses a combination of full page newspaper advertisements,
advertorials and online content to showcase New Zealand attractions
under four key themes: adventure, romance, family/education and
food and wine. Travellers are encouraged to select from the
range of activities on offer to create a tailored itinerary to suit
their personal interests.
The campaign promotes offers for travel to New Zealand until 31
October - including September and October 2011 - to ensure that
tourism growth from China is maintained over this period.
Prices start at CNY6,666pp (approximately NZD$1,270) and include
return airfares from Beijing/Shanghai direct to Auckland and one
night's 4-star accommodation (in Auckland).
The campaign runs in China from June to August and bookings must
be made prior to 31 August.
