Tourism New Zealand's Europe team attended the recent 46th ITB
Berlin, meeting with key trade and retail partners, airlines, other
Tourism Boards and media.
Some 113,000 trade visitors attended with almost 40 per cent
from outside of Germany.
Tourism New Zealand's Regional Manager UK and Europe, Danielle
Genty-Nott says the event was an opportunity to discuss the market
situation with key stakeholders and find ideas for partner
campaigns.
"Of particular note was the reception held for bloggers, on the
evening before ITB. The event attracted more than 120 bloggers,
highlighting the growth in on-line travel writers and the
importance of a digital approach to marketing New Zealand.
"Peter Rider, the New Zealand Ambassador in Berlin also hosted
drinks for VIP guests on the Tourism New Zealand stand as a way of
further fostering relationships."
Fifteen key journalists from Germany and France learned more
about Destination New Zealand and have engaged with the PR team
about opportunities for more media coverage in travel magazines
such as Merian and the blog Insiderei.
