New Zealand has been profiled to over 350,000 flying enthusiasts
in the USA following an International Media Programme (IMP) famil
trip.
Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) journalist Dave
Hirschman penned two feature articles detailing his experiences
flying in New Zealand.
Tourism New Zealand's General Manager Brand and International PR
Catherine Bates says; "The articles are a great example of the
types of positive results the international media programme is
delivering. Bringing media and journalists here to experience New
Zealand first hand is a great way for us to generate coverage and
exposure within our key markets as this piece has done for the
USA."
Hirschman experienced New Zealand from the skies with a tailored
itinerary that showcased some of the country's most stunning
scenery and landscapes.
Hirschman's articles give a detailed account of his trip which
took him to Milford Sound, White Island in the Bay of Plenty and
through locations that feature in the Lord of the Rings trilogy
which he describes as "more breathtaking than they could ever be on
film."
The articles detail New Zealand's unique scenery and landscapes,
as well as give an insight into Kiwi culture with a profile of New
Zealand pilot and South Island Marino farmer Jo McCaughan.
The coverage featured in AOPA Pilot, the largest aviation magazine
in the world and on the AOPA site which attracts nearly 400,000
unique visitors each month.
As a result the IMP team have developed resources for aviation
tourism on the media site.
