Americans looking for a dream holiday to New Zealand are being
encouraged to book their tickets during September with discounted
fares on Hawaiian Airlines' new service to Auckland.
The campaign is Tourism New Zealand's first joint venture
activity with the airline to promote the new Honolulu to Auckland
service set to launch in March 2013. , It features a promotional
offer of USD$200 off Economy class or $500 off First class return
airfares.
"The United States is an important market for leisure and business
travel to New Zealand and Hawaiian's new service offers a critical
link for converting those considering coming to New Zealand," says
Gregg Anderson, General Manager Western Markets.
"As we move towards a key booking period later this year, when we
expect to see heightened exposure because of the release of The
Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, this latest activity is sure to
capture their attention and help convert that interest into
bookings."
Announced in July, the three-weekly non-stop service will add
more than 40,000 seats annually, providing capacity and better
connections for tourist travel from the USA to New Zealand with
one-stop connections to 11 destinations on the US Mainland.
The activity will target Hawaiian Airlines' key West Coast focus
cities of Portland, Seattle, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay
area given the excellent connections through Honolulu to
Auckland.
Running through to 7 October using online advertising, interested
parties will be driven direct to Hawaiian Airlines' website to encourage
conversion and book their travel. All flights booked will also
receive a free optional stopover in Honolulu.
