Asia Visitor Study 2011

Last Updated on: 6 January 2012

Tourism New Zealand has undertaken product development research specifically focused on international visitors from China, South East Asia and India to ensure that the New Zealand holiday experience satisfy visitors from these markets.

The research was developed to provide information to the New Zealand industry on how visitors currently view their New Zealand holiday experience through the eyes of the Chinese, South East Asian and Indian consumer.

As part of the research findings components of the New Zealand holiday experience (e.g. "experiences", "themes" or "product types") were identified that would that appeal to these markets.

The research also provides a comprehensive list of general guidelines for developing products for these markets, making specific and practical recommendations on what needs to be done in order to ensure that the product will best meet the needs and expectations of visitors from these markets.
