Last week marked the start of the famil season from Europe with
a minimum of six groups currently arranged to visit New Zealand
over the next six months.
Experiencing the unique combination of activities, landscape and
people remains a key factor in improving sales performance in all
long haul markets making famils a critical part of marketing
activity.
The first group will feature 11 Product Managers from key German
accounts that will visit regions between Auckland and
Christchurch. The group is being hosted in conjunction with
Korean Airlines who are a strong air carrier ex-Germany.
The following week will see 12 agents from STA Travel UK commence
the first of the four STA famils arranged which will result in a
total of 48 agents visiting over the six month period. The
successful STA agents won their spot on the famils by being in the
top sellers of New Zealand for September and October 2011. The
famils have been a culmination of a 12 month marketing campaign and
trade engagement programme to increase New Zealand sales, and have
been coordinates wit a variety of airlines used by STA.
Singapore Airlines and Tourism New Zealand are also sending five
agents and one journalist to New Zealand during November. The
agents were selected based on the strength of their sales to New
Zealand on Singapore Airlines.
In addition to any specific criteria arranged with the individual
agencies, all agents that take part must have completed the Kiwi
Specialist modules before departure in order to qualify.
