Following a successful TRENZ in 2011, New Zealand's largest
annual Trade Event returned to Queenstown again in 2012 from 7-10
May.
Hundreds of meetings were held between tourism operators,
regional tourism organizations and international travel buyers over
the busy three day event.
Over 280 New Zealand Exhibitors were in attendance, showcasing
their products to more than 300 International Buyers from over 30
markets. This year also saw 80 new products being showcased
for the first time.
The famil afternoon was a popular inclusion again this year with
Destination Queenstown organizing the logistics of 500 Buyers,
Media and Exhibitors onto more than 43 activities on the Wednesday
afternoon. Delegates were able to try a local activity and
get a firsthand look at why Lonely Planet named the Southern Lakes
as one of the world's top 10 regions to visit in 2012.
Initial reports indicate that TRENZ 2012 has been a great
success.
TRENZ 2013 will take place on the Auckland waterfront 21-24
April. It will take advantage of new venues and
infrastructure created for the Rugby World Cup 2011.
