Tourism New Zealand is realigning its offshore senior management
team to better reflect its marketing strategy to 2013. As a result
of these changes, Tourism New Zealand has announced two key
appointments to its Executive Team.
The new positions are responsible for managing and leading
Tourism New Zealand's international offices in the execution of our
marketing strategy in key international markets and aligning
regional capabilities to ensure synergies between public relations,
trade and marketing activities.
These positions will also be critical in managing industry and
trade partnerships.
General Manager - Western Long-Haul Markets
Gregg Anderson, currently Tourism New Zealand Regional Manager
UK/Europe/Middle East, has been appointed to the position of
General Manager - Western Long-Haul Markets. Gregg's role will be
based in Los Angeles.
Gregg joined Tourism New Zealand in a marketing support role in
Wellington in April 1992, but has spent most of his career working
offshore. Gregg was marketing manager UK and Nordic regions based
in the UK for three years, before moving to LA where he was
appointed Regional Manager North America, a position he held for
eight years.
Gregg was then Regional Manager Australia for just over three
years before moving to Tourism New Zealand's London office in 2008.
Before joining Tourism New Zealand, Gregg worked for five years at
New Zealand Post in a variety of marketing and research management
roles.
General Manager - Eastern Long Haul Markets
Mark Frood, currently Tourism New Zealand Regional Manager North
Asia, has been appointed to the role General Manager - Eastern
Long-Haul Markets. This role will be based in Shanghai.
Mark has an extensive background in the adventure tourism and
ski industry gained since starting in tourism in 1990. Mark has
worked with AJ Hackett, Millbrook Resort and was Marketing Manager
at Destination Queenstown in the late 90s, when he also undertook
an MBA.
After time with a rural cooperative, Mark returned to
Destination Queenstown as Marketing General Manager from 2003 to
2007. He joined Tourism New Zealand as Regional Manager North Asia
with responsibility for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea and has
been based in Shanghai since March 2007.
