Leonie Ashford, Tourism New Zealand's Business Events Bid Manager is tasked with making sure New Zealand is on the world map when it comes to hosting international conferences.  Leonie has the expertise and resource available to produce a world class bid on your behalf.

Tourism New Zealand can help you with managing the whole bid process, ensuring the bid that is presented to your association showcases the best of what New Zealand can offer your international conference. We work with the Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) to facilitate financial feasibility as well as preparing bid documents, presentations and promotional DVDs to ensure your bid is of the highest quality.

We know that New Zealand is a great destination. We know too that global competition is intense. We're continually bidding against some of the most well-known conference destinations throughout the world.

That's where the New Zealand advantage puts us above the others. Our point of difference lies in our people. Working across many and varied disciplines we have experts whose projects and work receive global recognition - or deserve to do so. By bringing their international bodies to New Zealand, the profile of their work is further highlighted on a global scale.

Since July 2012, New Zealand has been confirmed as host for five upcoming conferences worth an estimated NZD $27.5 million to the economy. Feedback from Dr Annette Beautrais, senior research fellow at Auckland University and a member of the International Association of Suicide Prevention, the latest bid secured under the CAP, was that 'the bid was the highest quality they had ever received and it raised the bar for future bids'.

Tourism New Zealand manages and administers the CAP on behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
