GM Tim Burgess departs

Tourism New Zealand's GM Australia and Indonesia Tim Burgess is leaving his role with the organisation to take up a position in Auckland.

Tim has accepted a position at Les Mills International as global head of PR and communications, which will allow him and his family to settle back in New Zealand.

Tourism New Zealand's Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says Tim will be missed.

"Tim returned to Tourism New Zealand in January 2011 to take up the important role of GM Australia based in Sydney. Since then he has made a significant contribution to both our Australian team and to the whole organisation.

"Tim's passion and leadership has created a unified team and his strong trade focus has stepped up our partnership activity to a new level. Tim has also led the successful establishment of our new office and team in Indonesia."

Tim will finish up on 10 February 2014 and recruitment for his replacement will commence immediately.
