The position is a secondment from her current role as Tourism New Zealand’s Trade Development Manager Thailand, and provides up to 12 months’ parental leave cover for Julia Panfilo.
It includes representing and managing CCT’s representation at offshore trade events, managing incoming famils and making sales calls to inbound tour operators in New Zealand and Australia. Joy will also oversee any activity undertaken by CCT in the China market.
Steven Dixon, Regional Manager South & South East Asia, says it’s a win-win situation for both organisations.
“We are very pleased for Joy. After seven years at Tourism New Zealand she brings with her an exceptional knowledge of the New Zealand travel trade and New Zealand tourism product, and will be a great asset to the team at CCT.
“The secondment will also provide her with the chance to further develop her skills and complements her current role well – we are supportive of the opportunity and wish Joy all the best for her time in Christchurch.”
Joy begins with Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism on 9 September.
