Off the back of Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines' recent alliance announcement, which saw codeshare flights go on sale on both airlines' services between New Zealand and Singapore, the roadshow provided an entertaining platform for Tourism New Zealand to deliver essential information to German-speaking agents in Munich, Stuttgart and Zurich.
"The aim of the roadshow is to keep our 100% Pure New Zealand Specialists engaged and up-to-date with our latest travel and destination information," says Danielle Genty-Nott, Tourism New Zealand's Regional Manager - UK and Europe.
"At the same time this event presents us with an excellent opportunity to attract new specialists to our programme by showing them how improving their knowledge of New Zealand will really help them sell more New Zealand holidays and product."
The three roadshow evenings kicked off with presentations from all host partners, followed by New Zealand food and wine. The event's 40 minute quiz proved just as popular as last year, when the roadshow ran for the first time in Germany.
Danielle says teaming up with partners to host roadshows not only makes each event cost-effective, but also ensures that agents receive a great variety of information over the course of the evening.
"The Cook Islands is a popular stop over option for European tourists heading to New Zealand, so it makes sense to team up with them. The destination content complemented each other well."
Feedback from the agents included: "the presentations and the quiz were new and refreshing at the same time", "it's impossible to say which part of the evening I liked best because it was the mixture of different elements that made the evening a success" and "the system of the quiz was great as it was a good way to remember all the information given."
Tourism New Zealand, Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines are teaming up again in January 2015 to host another roadshow in January 2015, this time with AAT Kings and THL.
