The campaign, launched last week in Germany in conjunction with the blog marketing network Populis, aims to inspire Active Considers in Germany to visit New Zealand via first-hand experiential content.
The search for bloggers is being led by online banners and will be live for two weeks, with applications open until 22 July 2013.
General Manager Western Long-haul Markets Gregg Anderson says the objective of the project is showcase different and unexpected facets of New Zealand which resonate with the passions and interests of Active Considerers.
"Because we're trying to get diverse content the competition is open to bloggers covering all spheres and topics, not just travel bloggers.
"Each of the five itineraries will be developed specifically for the blogger, depending on their style and strengths - so we may end up with itineraries focused on food and wine, culture or outdoor activities for example," says Gregg.
The creative for the banners has been tailored to attract applicants and includes links to the Facebook page and the 100% Pure New Zealand, 100% Middle-earth TVC to create excitement and engage potential applicants.
The five successful bloggers will visit New Zealand from 29 September to 9 October 2013.
Content resulting from the visits will not only appear on the participants' blogs but will also be leveraged via feeds within Tourism New Zealand's own campaign and social channels.
The successful applicants are expected to be announced in early August.
