Rubgy World Cup fans reminded to 'book now'

Date Published: 4 May 2011

Rugby fans visiting New Zealand for Rugby World Cup 2011 are being reminded to make travel arrangements for their special trip to ensure they aren't disappointed come tournament kick-off.

An electronic direct mail (eDM) was sent to thousands of international ticket holders on Friday to remind them that "kick off is coming fast" and it's time to think about finalising their travel and accommodation for their very special New Zealand holiday. More than 19,000 ticket holders who receive tournament updates by request received the eDM.

Tourism New Zealand's General Manager Public Affairs Suzanne Carter said the reminder would help ensure rugby fans has the best possible experience in New Zealand during the tournament.

"For anyone who hasn't yet done so, now is definitely the time to book flights and accommodation".

International fans are being directed to the Rugby World Cup 2011 accommodation portal on www.newzealand.com to help them search for accommodation and flights.

The REAL New Zealand Festival is also being promoted to encourage visitors to take the long way around during the tournament and experience rural New Zealand.
