As Major Events Manager, David's role is to work closely with the marketing team and our offshore posts to leverage attention for destination New Zealand from major events such as the America's Cup and Rugby World Cup, and to look at potential event opportunities for New Zealand offshore.

Events are used as part of our international marketing because they generate global media coverage and create more reasons for consumers to travel to New Zealand. Events also showcase our culture, lifestyle and personality.

Rachael is the main contact for TRENZ (Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand) and is responsible for the overall involvement of Tourism New Zealand in this major industry event. Tourism New Zealand's key role is to identify and invite high calibre international buyers to attend TRENZ on an annual basis.

New Zealand tourism operators wishing to attend TRENZ as an exhibitor should contact the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand in the first instance.

Charlotte coordinates the Human Resource function for Tourism New Zealand. This includes providing advice and assistance with all aspects of the HR function, including organisational design and development, recruitment and selection, performance review and development, employee health and welfare, training and development, remuneration and benefits.

Charlotte also works closely with Tourism New Zealand's domestic and offshore offices providing advice and guidance on employment related issues

As the Industry Communications Manager, Katherine is responsible for the coordination of Tourism New Zealand's verbal communication with the New Zealand tourism industry.

Katherine is the first point of contact for Regional Tourism Organisations and New Zealand industry groups to liaise with Tourism New Zealand.

The Marketing Research team based in Auckland is entrusted with the job of delivering, interpreting and communicating Tourism New Zealand's annual marketing research programme. This is centred on Tourism New Zealand's core activity which falls into the three broad areas of Campaign, Channel and Capability, with a fundamental focus on our ideal customer - the type of global traveller we want to attract to New Zealand.
  • Campaign Research tracks the effect of the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign and provides the Marketing Communications team with unbiased feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Channel Research allows us to further develop understanding of the motivations and behaviours of our target market.
  • Capability Research monitors actual international visitor statistics and behaviours (to inform the tourism industry of their needs), and New Zealand's performance in delivering holidays (to advise the tourism industry of development priorities).

Mischa Mannix - Trade Marketing Manager, Operations

As Trade Marketing Manager - Operations, Mischa is responsible for planning and leading the delivery of a comprehensive and effective trade marketing and development strategy in Tourism New Zealand's key markets. Mischa is responsbile for ensuring that the Operations team delivers annual global trade training and an events plan that strategically links with both the trade marketing strategy and Tourism New Zealand’s consumer marketing campaign.

Andrew Leslie - i-SITE Manager

Andrew manages New Zealand's i-SITE Visitor Information Network (VIN). This role has dual responsibility to Tourism New Zealand and the VIN Inc Board.

Key aspects of the role include providing strategic vision to the VIN Inc Board; maintaining a quality assessment programme and monitoring the use of the membership standards; overseeing training; maintaining member contact through newsletters, regional meetings and the Annual i-SITE Conference; and working with Tourism New Zealand on marketing the i-SITE network offshore.

Kylie Ruwhiu-Karawana - Māori Development Manager

As Māori Development Manager , Kylie is responsible for the delivery and implementation of Tourism New Zealand's Māori Development strategic approach. Kylie is responsible for maintaining Tourism New Zealand's relationship with the New Zealand Māori Tourism Council and Māori Regional Tourism Organisations; working with off shore staff to help deliver the Māori Tourism proposition and cultural messages; and working on helping New Zealand Māori tourism operators with product development.

Kiri Goulter - Development Manager

As Development Manager, Kiri's role is in relation to the capability area of Tourism New Zealand's core activity which focuses on assisting the industry to deliver on the 100% Pure New Zealand promise.

Kiri's key responsibilities include supporting regions, sectors and products to develop and deliver quality tourism experiences. This includes overseeing Tourism New Zealand's Quality Strategy, profiling Qualmark to international trade and consumers, and liaising with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise on tourism development projects.
