Taking place annually, ITB Berlin is the world’s biggest tourism fair on 160K square metres with 10,000+ exhibitors and 160K total visitors (of which 109K are trade visitors). The fair consists of three days that are open only to trade and media as well as two days over the weekend that are aimed at consumers.
Tourism New Zealand has a 70 m2 exhibition stand (located next to Tourism Australia) and offers a variety of options for New Zealand tourism operators to be part of our stand.
Due to the nature of ITB and the fact that no appointment scheduling is offered, we only recommend this to inbound operators (IBOs) or operators that have representation or a strong network in Germany and wider Europe.
Before ITB, there is a pre-ITB training day (the Australia & New Zealand Product Workshop) that will take place on 5 March, with 50 to 60 frontline travel agents from Berlin and other German cities in attendance. This event in a table top format provides an excellent platform to build strong selling capability of frontline agents and to engage with an existing network of travel sellers. Tourism New Zealand stand partners are able to attend this event free of charge, however, the event is not suitable for inbound operators unless they have a commissionable packaged product offering. Please note that stand partners sharing a booth will also share a table and presentation time at this event.
Straight on the back of ITB, PATA Exchange is taking place in London on 12 March, connecting New Zealand operators with Product Managers from the UK. More information can be found on the PATA website www.pata.org.uk/event/pata-exchange. Registration for this event is done directly with PATA.
