Two weeks on from the launch of the new categories and the response has been positive from many, says Qualmark General Manager Tim Keeling.
Twelve businesses have already been evaluated and awarded recognition under the three new categories, with many more soon to follow.
As a newly endorsed Boutique & Lodge provider, Dietske Grootelaar, of the Manse says the new categories make a huge difference and support them in their goal to deliver the highest possible service.
"It is so important to have quality categories. It makes it easier for the customer and for us it is a constant reminder to maintain that quality. We're pleased Qualmark recognised this need in the market."
New Zealand Luxury Lodge provider, John Dick from Greenhill Lodge says: "We are delighted to have been accredited under the new Qualmark 'New Zealand Luxury Lodge' criteria, which clearly assures international and local guests that we operate at the optimum level of guest hospitality and luxury."
"New tourism businesses are constantly evolving product and experiences to challenge the status quo and it's essential to have a robust external audit system such as Qualmark to ensure that our business meets a high level of guest expectation and consistent quality."
