Airline partnership to encourage Indian visitors

Tourism New Zealand has partnered with Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines to encourage more Indian visitors to New Zealand.

There has been a steady increase in arrivals from India with 53,424 travellers visiting at year end March 2017, a 14.9 percent increase on 2016.

“New Zealand is the ultimate destination for many Indian travellers and the promotional fares on offer through the campaign provide a great opportunity to turn their dream holiday into a reality, says Steven Dixon, Tourism New Zealand’s Regional Manager – South and South East Asia.

Indian visitors tend to travel from October to March and family arrivals peak from April to June, making the India market very attractive to the New Zealand tourism industry as it helps to offset seasonality issues by encouraging visitors in the shoulder seasons.

Singapore Airlines offers 98 weekly connections from 11 cities in India to Singapore. Together with Air New Zealand the airline also provides over 25 weekly, onward connections to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Air New Zealand’s Regional Manager Asia, Scott Carr says, “We’re thrilled to be bringing seamless travel experiences to Indian visitors looking to explore the unparalleled beauty of New Zealand.”
