GM Asia accepts new role

Tourism New Zealand's GM Asian Markets Tony Everitt is leaving the organisation to take up a new role at Tourism Australia.

He has accepted the position of Regional General Manager Greater China with Tourism Australia and will take up the role in December.
Tourism New Zealand's Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says Tony will be a big loss.
"Over the past two decades Tony has spent more than 13 years in total working for Tourism New Zealand; in Japan, Singapore and since April 2012 as GM Asia Markets based in Shanghai.
"He has done an outstanding job during an 18 month period which has seen enormous growth from the China market and the successful introduction of Tourism New Zealand's Premier Kiwi Partnership (PKP) programme, working with selected travel sellers to develop and market high quality New Zealand itineraries.
"Under Tony leadership's a clear and successful strategy has been put in place in China, which will continue to bear fruit. We will shortly begin the search for someone with the leadership skills and abilities to carry on the good work."
