Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says Catherine's departure from the organisation will mark the end of an era.
"Catherine started at Tourism New Zealand more than 19 years ago and has held a number of marketing and PR roles over the years.
"Her contribution to the organisation has been truly significant having been a key member of the team behind the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign since its inception, along with overseeing the leverage of significant events such as the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the release of Lord of the Rings trilogy, several America's Cup defences and challenges and most recently, Tourism New Zealand work to leverage the Hobbit trilogy.
"Last year she also led the development of The New Zealand Story on behalf of Tourism New Zealand, Education New Zealand and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
"Her wealth of knowledge and expertise has played a big part in many of the organisation's key milestones and successes," he says.
"We will shortly begin the search for Catherine's replacement."
