The guide book which is a collaborative effort by Tourism New Zealand, Education New Zealand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade details the merits of choosing New Zealand as a place to visit or study, for school groups in Japan.
New Zealand's Māori culture, hospitality and landscapes are being promoted as elements which add to the country's offering as a great education destination. Also included are case studies from schools who have previously visited New Zealand.
Tourism New Zealand assisted with images and content for the guide, particularly where it had a tourism focus. All three organisations are using their contacts to distribute it in market.
Over 7,000 Japanese visited New Zealand in 2012 for education purposes.
