Media results highlight the joys of cycling in New Zealand

Articles promoting New Zealand's cycle tourism offering have appeared in prominent UK and Australian publications following visits by journalists under Tourism New Zealand's international media programme.

The UK's Independent describes an "epic mountain adventure in New Zealand". The publication has a circulation of more than 67,000.

The UK's Telegraph newspaper published an extensive article on The Timber Trail while Australia's Herald Sun profiled the South Island's cycling product.

Both articles were accompanied by shots of stunning New Zealand scenery.

Cycling tourism is a new target for Tourism New Zealand as part of its focus on special interest travel.

Visitors who select their holidays based on their 'special interest' tend to stay longer and spend more than the average holiday visitor.

Tourism New Zealand's International Media Programme hosts more than 150 journalists in the country every year, with the objective of gaining compelling, high-profile media coverage.
