New Zealand-Cook Islands dual destination campaign

A free Pacific Island getaway is proving popular with winter weary Americans, inspiring then to book travel to New Zealand.

A new joint venture campaign with three travel wholesalers Springboard Vacations, Aspire Downunder and Downunder Endeavours is running through March and early April.

The campaign is offering a free two night stopover in Rarotonga when customers book a seven day trip to New Zealand.

General Manager of Western markets Gregg Anderson says the campaign was launched following the success of similar activity run last year.

"It is clear that Americans already considering a trip to New Zealand are prompted to convert that interest into travel, when a Pacific Island stop-over is also part of the equation.

"Initial feedback on this campaign is that it is offering some very good prospects."

The campaign offers packages starting at US $1,999 that combine outdoor adventure, South Island romance or indulgence itineraries with a two night stopover in Rarotonga.

The price includes airfares, accommodation and car rental.
