“While you can’t book a flight or travel to New Zealand at the moment it’s important to motivate people to continue to dream and encourage people to experience New Zealand through digital content,” says Stephen England -Hall, Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive.
“While movement across the world is restricted, there is a desire for uplifting, inspirational travel content, we need to get people thinking about us now so that when it’s safe to travel we are top of mind.”
The Good Morning World campaign was paused when the Covid-19 outbreak hit and fans were quick to notice.
“Followers of our social pages starting asking where their daily fixes of Good Mornings from New Zealand were and told us they were missing us so it’s nice to be back.”
The campaign, which features short videos submitted by everyday Kiwis who wish the world good morning, was developed to showcase the “Kiwi spirit” as a unique selling point for visitors.
Each day a Good Morning World video will be shared through Tourism New Zealand’s social channels starting 13 May and will continue until 16 June. The Good Morning World channel is followed by international and Kiwi audiences.
A package of activity encouraging domestic travel is also underway and will roll out as the country transitions into alert level two.
