In 2018 around 10,000 of Amway China’s top salespeople will be rewarded with a trip to Queenstown. The five day visits will be staggered during autumn in groups of 500 at a time.
“The month long promotion of New Zealand to Amway salespeople is designed to inspire and give a taste of what they could experience as part of this incentive trip,” says Lisa Gardiner Business Events and Premium Manager Tourism New Zealand.
The interactive display encourages visitors to take selfies against backdrops of beautiful New Zealand scenery and posting them on social media. Additionally hosted events will take place over the next month including cooking classes using quality New Zealand ingredients.
“The display showcases the range of activities on offer in new Zealand including adventure experiences like bungy jumping and skydiving alongside tamer options including our many vineyards and scenic offerings.”
The autumn 2018 visits are estimated to deliver a minimum of $50 million to the New Zealand economy with delegates’ personal spending bringing additional benefit.
“New Zealand is a highly attractive destination to Chinese travellers and the confirmation of the Queenstown location has generated a lot of interest and excitement from Amway China staff,” says Lisa.
Amway, like many organisations offers an annual incentive travel event to their staff.
“Our work to promote New Zealand as an inventive destination is delivering significant results, accounting for more than $94 million in estimated converted value last financial year.”
While the 2018 visits are focused on the Queenstown area we are working with Amway to encourage the groups undertake further travel on either side of their stay.
“New Zealand is easy to get around and the regions offer many must do experiences so we are highlighting these in the lead- up to the visits.”
The Queenstown Amway China display area was opened by Guergana Guermanoff, the New Zealand Consul-General in Shanghai. There are around 240,000 Amway sales people in China.
