Promoting New Zealand’s golf experience has been boosted - with TNZ’s new golf hub content going live as well as the Government announcing almost $1 million in funding to host the Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Championship 2017.

The funding, from the Government’s Major Events Development Fund (MEDF), will see almost a million dollars invested in the Royal Wellington Golf Club to host the Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Championship next year. It was announced in a joint statement from Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce and Sport and Recreation Minister Jonathan Coleman. Mr Joyce said the four day tournament, which will be broadcast live to more than 150 countries, provides a strong platform to showcase New Zealand as a great tourism and golf-tourism destination. Read the full statement
