TNZ appoints GM Americas and Europe

Tourism New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Bjoern Spreitzer to the key role of General Manager Americas and Europe based in Los Angeles.

Bjoern currently holds the role of International Business Events Manager. Since taking it on in 2013 he has developed the organisation's International Business Events strategy, built an entirely new, high-performing team and re-established Tourism New Zealand's relationships with this important industry.

Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says Bjoern's background in trade, skills and achievements mean he is perfectly positioned to continue building our success in the critical Western hemisphere markets, and help drive the development of our entry into Latin American markets.

"It is fantastic to be able to promote internally and continue to offer our people new challenges as we've been able to in this instance."

Bjoern has been with Tourism New Zealand since 2006 having started with the organisation as Manager, Germany.

He will join the team in LA in the next few months, replacing Gregg Anderson who is taking a sabbatical from the organisation before returning to New Zealand.
