Tourism New Zealand General Manager Marketing Communications Justin Watson says the most effective approach to unlock this sizeable market is to work in partnership to maximise the strength of each organisation.

Tourism New Zealand's involvement in the business events sector supports its overall strategic direction of increasing international visitors' economic contribution by attracting more high value people and getting them to stay longer.
Since assuming management of the Conference Assistance Programme in July this year, Tourism New Zealand's Business Event team has helped achieve two bid wins. The most recent success was the win of the 6th Asia Pacific Occupational Therapy Congress with a collaborative pitch effort with the Rotorua Convention Bureau, and the New Zealand Association of Occupational Therapists.
In 2012, the Tourism New Zealand Business Events team will continue CINZ's commitment to establishing strong industry relationships by leading the representation from New Zealand at IMEX in Frankfurt. Celebrating 10years of excellence, IMEX 2012 will be a must attend show in the global calendar of the meetings industry.
