Wanaka-based business and sports specialist joins Qualmark team

Qualmark has appointed Wanaka-based business man Dr John Cossens to its team of respected tourism business advisors.

As well as having an extensive background in tertiary education, John has been involved in marketing, tourism, sport and business consultancy for twenty years.

He taught in the Marketing Department at Otago University for many years and developed and managed a Queenstown based adventure tourism management programme.

Sport also plays a big part of John's life. He has competed in Ironman races, many marathons and completed five Kepler Challenge events. His real passion is getting out into the outdoors and exploring the magnificent mountains, rivers and valleys of Otago, Westland and Fiordland.

Qualmark General Manager, Cameron Lawrence, says it is fantastic to have someone of John’s calibre join the team. “We know from our members how highly regarded our tourism business advisors are. I know that the skills, passion and experience that John brings to the role means we can continue to offer an excellent service to our customers in the South”.

John will initially be buddied up with John Cushen, a tourism business advisor based in Queenstown.
