For the past several months work has been underway to develop tourismnewzealand.com onto a responsive framework, which means that whether you are looking at the site on your PC, tablet or mobile device, the content will adapt to display the information in the best format for your screen.
With the ever growing use of mobile and tablet devices to access information on the go - mobile- friendly websites are increasingly expected by users and we're seeing a steady rise in tourismnewzealand.com visitors accessing the site on their mobile devices.
Just last month Google set the deadline of 21 April for websites to ensure they were mobile-friendly, or face having their websites downgraded in Google's search rankings for failing to meet the requirements.
While the main objective of the project has been move the site onto a mobile framework it has provided us with an opportunity to take a look at the site and see if there are any improvements that could be made.
You may have participated in a survey we ran last year asking what information you liked on the site, what you didn't like and how we could make it work better for you. The findings of this survey, along with our website analytics, provided us with some good insight into what information our visitors found valuable and where we needed to make some tweaks.
While the large majority of content will remain on the site there has some slight rearranging which we hope will make it easier for you to find the information you're after.
Research and insights will be given a new look, with several interactive graphs which will help bring these figures to life.
We will be sure to keep you updated as we head closer towards the launch of the new site so keep an eye on tourismnewzealand.com and our e-newsletter Tourism News for information in the coming weeks.
