Business events

Attract high-quality international business events with strategic support from our Business Events team.

Working with government, top academics, and business leaders, we offer funding and support to help bring international conferences and incentives to New Zealand.

Make the most of our conference support

Our Conference Assistance Programme (CAP) is available to any association or organisation, including universities, which wants to bid to host an international conference in New Zealand with a minimum of 200 international delegates.

Support includes a financial feasibility study for the event, production of a world-class bid document, funding to cover the cost of presenting the bid, and marketing resources to increase attendance.

Tap into our incentive support

Our team uses its knowledge and connections to help deliver an incentive that excites, regardless of group objective, size, taste, and budget. Support includes tailored itineraries, familiarisation trips, marketing resources, and introductions to local specialists.

Our business development activity

Business Events team activity includes conference and incentive bidding, sales calls, training initiatives, attendance at trade shows, familiarisation visits for decision makers, and marketing activity positioning and promoting New Zealand as an attractive business events destination.

We have dedicated BE business development managers based in Auckland, Wellington, Los Angeles, Sydney, Singapore, and Shanghai.

Why business events?

Business events visitors are high value, both in terms of spending more than the usual visitor, and in the knowledge and networking opportunities they bring to New Zealand.

These are a catalyst for positive social impact, with the potential to enrich the social, cultural, economic, and environmental wellbeing of New Zealanders.

The information shared and decisions taken at business events can profoundly change communities, impacting areas from policy and legislation change, to public health initiatives, environmental action, economic growth, or the creation of new jobs.
